A pole pocket is a pocket on a banner to slide a pole through. A pole pocket can be on any side of the banner but is most commonly on the top and bottom so that it can be suspended between two horizontal poles. Pole pockets allow for even distribution of the banner’s weight and can be used to make the banner hang more flat and taut. Banners with pole pockets are often used in parades, trade shows, and as point of purchase signs.
